Boston Business Atmosphere

The Boston business atmosphere is one of change and renewed energy. The city is perfectly placed for trade, has numerous major transport hubs and the port makes the sea a very important route in and out.

Despite the malaise that has affected our country, Boston seemed to be one of the first to pull out of it. Our strong work ethic and moral fiber made us pick ourselves up and get back to work. Our streets have more energy than they used to, our businesses are picking up and people are gradually getting back to work.

Economic Development

Boston has a range of initiatives to boost business and trade in the city. The local government has a few programs designed to boost the economic development of the city and boost the Boston business atmosphere.

These programs include; Boston’s Back Streets, Create Boston, LifeTech Boston, Boston Retail Market, ReStore Boston and the Boston Main Streets program. Each is designed to target different aspects of our city’s economy and drive initiatives forward that will provide jobs and offer real benefits to the community.

Business Development

Boston is a great place to do business. Not only is it the financial capital of New England, it’s also a major convention city and transport hub on the eastern seaboard. It has two large convention centers, the Bayside Expo & Executive Conference Center, which is currently the largest in New England, and the John B Hynes Memorial Convention Center.

The Greater Boston Chamber of Commerce is also a widely respected business entity that provides invaluable help for small and growing businesses. It represents over 1800 local businesses and provides events and programs to promote growth and prosperity.

City Development

Over the past 15 years, Boston has lost many of the businesses that made it unique. Many companies have been bought by multinationals and others have been replaced with newer institutions with a more national purview. Boston now has a range of national organizations that offer real opportunity for the workers and businesses of the city.

The city also makes great efforts to promote business and doing business in Boston. The Office of Business Development has a number of programs to help businessmen with technical support, financial aid, and referral services for the specific needs of a particular industry.

There has never been a better time to invest or do business in Boston. The city is alive once more and ready to welcome you into its arms!
