Boston Temporary Housing

Temporary housing is just that. A place to stay for a while until you’re ready to leave. That’s generally from 30 days up to a couple of years, depending on your needs. The advantage is that the time period can be set in advance, or work on a rolling contract.

When you need somewhere to stay for a while, you generally have three options. You could stay in a hotel, stay with friends or family or use temporary housing.

Hotels are perfect for short stays or vacations. You don’t have to do anything, your laundry is done for you, your meals are prepared and you have no furniture to move. You can sit back, relax and enjoy the view while your every need is taken care of.

However, stay in a hotel more than a week and it gets old fast. Those four walls begin closing in, the few free TV channels have lost their allure and you will have tried almost everything on the menu. So now what?

Staying with friends and family is a great way of spending a few days while you’re out of home. They will also look after you, cook for you and generally keep you happy and safe. Again, once you stay for longer than a few days, it can get old.

Staying on a sofa is more uncomfortable than it should be and you soon begin to feel like you’re in the way. If you need to stay somewhere for a few weeks, unless your people have an estate home somewhere, you will soon be tripping over each other.

That leaves temporary housing. Sure it costs more than staying with friends and family, but only half as much as the average hotel room. In return, you get an apartment or house of your own, with everything you need to keep you going until your home is ready.
